The car will first go on sale in South American markets like Brazil by the end of the year. It will compete with Honda City, the Hyundai Verna and the yet-to-be-launched Polo-based VW Virtus.
The teaser revealed by the company shows the sedan’s side profile and hints of the front as well. Right up to the B-pillar, the car resembles the Argo, including the grille and headlamps, but the rear is re-designed and so is the roof. The tail-lamps look inspired by smaller Audi sedans. No details about the interiors have been revealed.
For Brazil, the car will use the Argo’s 1.0-litre, three-cylinder petrol engine. It will also be powered by a 109hp, 1.3-litre petrol and a 139hp, 1.8-litre flex-fuel engine. Gearboxes include a five-speed manual and a six-speed automatic transmission, respectively.
For now, there’s no news of Fiat bringing the car to India.
