Yamaha has taken the covers off the YZF-R3 GYTR special edition at the EICMA 2018.

Yamaha has unveiled a race-spec version of the YZF-R3 at the EICMA 2018. The bike has been developed under the Genuine Yamaha Technology Racing (GYTR) program and the production of this special edition will be in limited numbers. The Yamaha YZF-R3 GYTR is a race machine that gets many mechanical hardware upgrades.

The bike is loaded with top-notch mechanical hardware like Ohlins racing suspension, a Brembo brake, a titanium exhaust from Akrapovic and GYTR engine kit. The engine kit helps the motor to comply with the 2019 World Supersport 300 championship FIM regulation. The bike is not street legal as it doesn’t get mirrors, indicators, number plate holders and pillion seat. The rear cowl replaces the pillion seat of the bike and the rider saddle has been reworked for better riding ergonomics.

The output figures of the bike were not disclosed by Yamaha. However, it’s expected to be more than the stock R3, which makes 42 PS of power and 29.6 Nm of torque. The full specs, price and availability of the bike will be revealed in the coming future.
