The German luxury car manufacturer, BMW brings the seventh generation of 3-Series at the Paris Motor Show 2018. The design of the new generation car is more aggressive. There have been many enhancements in the car to improve the overall package.
The chassis has been upgraded extensively and weight distribution of the car is 50:50. The M package now offers a variety of options like adaptive M suspension, variable sports steering, M Sport brakes and an electronically controlled M Sport rear differential for fully-variable locking effect.
The new-gen model gets full LED headlamps and taillights as standard, but there is an option of BMW Laserlight headlights and LED front fog lamps. The fit and finish of the interior is top-notch. The rear seat folds in a 40:20:40 pattern to offer a boot capacity of 480 litres. Six speakers as standard in the car with an option of upgrading to sixteen speakers Harman Kardon sound system.
There are many driver assistance systems like collision and pedestrian warning with braking function, lane departure warning system, cruise control with stop & go function and many more. The new 3-Series will be offered in six variants – 320i, 330i, 318d, 320d, 320d xDrive and 330d. The transmission on offer will be either a 6-speed manual gearbox or an 8-speed Steptronic transmission. However, for the greener future BMW is going to bring the 330e by mid-2019. We can expect the 3-Series to launch in India by next year with petrol and diesel engine options.
