Ford GT Carbon Series is 18 kg lighter than the regular street-legal version.

The American manufacturer, Ford has unveiled a special edition of GT called the carbon series. The model of the Ford GT Carbon Series is a track-focused car and is 18 kg lighter than the street-legal version.

The weight of the car has been decreased by the usage of ventilated polycarbonate rear hatch, carbon fibre wheels with titanium nut and a full titanium exhaust system. This special edition features more visible carbon fibre stripes that match the A-pillars, lower body panels and wheels. The centre strip, ORVM covers and brake callipers are the only coloured parts of the car and owners can choose one of these four colours for it – red, blue, orange and silver.

The car hasn’t been stripped off of basic features like air-conditioning and infotainment system. There is a plenty of usage of carbon fibre in the cockpit along with unique pattern stitching on the seats and steering wheel. The silver colour thread used for the stitching very well accentuates with the anodised paddle shifters and instrument panel badging.

Ford will be manufacturing only a single unit in a week and it will be available to only a selected few already decided customers. On November 8, Ford will open the final owner application process for a few selected global markets.
