Maruti Suzuki has updated the Ignis hatchback for the 2019 model year. The hatchback gets minor changes to meet the new safety norms. The carmaker is now offering roof rails for the Zeta and Alpha variants to enhance the visual appeal of the car. New safety features include Reverse Parking Assist System, Co-Driver Seat Belt Reminder and High Speed Alert System.
The 2019 Maruti Ignis already comes with dual front airbags, ABS and EBD, seat belt pre-tensioners with force limiters and ISOFIX as standard across all the variants. There are no other mechanical changes and cosmetic changes on the exterior and interior. Maruti hasn't updated the infotainment system either. It continues to come with the old SmartPlay system.
Maruti Suzuki had discontinued the diesel engine for the Ignis long back because of low demand. The Ignis is being offered with the 1.2-litre petrol engine that produces 82 BHP of power at 6000 RPM and 113 Nm of torque at 4200 RPM. This engine is being offered with both 5-speed manual and 5-speed AMT transmission options.
Hyundai has launched the anniversary edition of the new gen Verna that comes with cosmetic changes and new features.
