Renault has introduced the 2019 Renault Megane RS Trophy in the UK market with a starting price of £31,810 (Rs. 25.50 lakhs). It is a serious performance oriented version of the Renault Megane that comes with a sporty Cup chassis which includes a Torsen limited-slip differential, 25 percent firmer dampers, 30 percent tighter springs and 10 percent stiffer anti-roll bars, as standard.
The front brakes get 355 mm discs with Brembo calipers along with 19-inch Jerez alloy wheels that are 2kg lighter each compared to the regular RS version and it also comes with more grippy tyres. Powering this monster is a 1.8-litre four-cylinder engine that produces 300 PS of maximum power and 420 Nm of peak torque, which is a considerable increase in power.
There is a new exhaust system on offer for sporty sound. It comes with driving modes including Comfort, Normal, Sport, Race and custom. The interior styling is sporty as well and comes with the standard features like LED lights, rear parking sensors, dual-zone climate control, 7-inch infotainment system, cruise control, etc. We don't expect Renault to launch the Megane in India.
