Maruti Vitara Breeza has been a stand-out performer in the Indian automobile market with tremendous sales growth since its launch in 2016. With the new BSVI emission norms coming into picture post 1 April 2020, Maruti unveiled the BSVI Vitara Breeza Facelift Petrol at the recently concluded Auto Expo 2020. Launched on 24th February 2020 at a starting price of Rs 7.35 Lakhs (Ex-Showroom, Delhi) for the base variant, the Vitara Breeza Facelift will replace the outgoing BSIV diesel-powered SUV. Maruti’s new offering Vitara Breeza Facelift Petrol is expected to compete against the likes of Tata Nexon, Hyundai Venue, Ford Ecosport, and Mahindra XUV300 in the Indian market.
Maruti Vitara Breeza Facelift Petrol generates a power of 103.2bhp and a torque of 138nm which is good but loses out to Nexon, XUV300, and Ecosport. Vitara shades the Hyundai Venue easily in the power section parameter but lacks the power compared to other SUVs in the segment.
Vitara Brezza's mileage is 17-18 kmpl which is among the best in the SUV segment and easily better than the Ford Ecosport whose mileage is 14kmpl. The SUV will be a roaring hit among the mileage conscious Indians who look for more value in their vehicles. Hence, with good mileage, it would stand the chance of garnering good market share and Vitara delivering success to Maruti in the mileage part.
Vitara Breeza Facelift Petrol has both 4-speed Automatic and 5-speed Manual transmission options which are lacking in Hyundai Venue and Mahindra XUV300 who only offer manual options only. Ecosport and Nexon offer the Automatic/Manual options for the Indian consumers like the Maruti Suzuki.
Vitara Breeza Facelift Petrol is competitively priced at Rs 7.35 lakhs (Ex-Showroom) for the Base Model while the Tata Nexon base model is priced at Rs 6.95 Lakhs (Ex-Showroom). Hyundai Venue price begins at Rs 6.70, Ford Ecosport base model is priced at Rs 8.04 Lakhs (Ex-Showroom) and Mahindra XUV300 base variant is priced at 8.30 lakh (ex-showroom, India).
Overall, Maruti Vitara Breeza Facelift Petrol is going to be one of the launches of this year with its BSVI compliant engine and being competitively priced.
