Ford recently launched its BS VI Endeavour and thereby discontinuing its BS IV model. The new 2020 Ford Endeavour comes with subtle cosmetic updates and a few additional features.
The Ford Endeavour BS6 compliant has been launched in the market in the price range of Rs 29.55-33.25 Lakhs (ex-showroom). The BSIV compliant Ford Endeavour was priced in a range of Rs 28.19-32.97 Lakhs (ex-showroom)
Ford Endeavour BSVI is powered by a new 2.0-litre Ecoblue diesel engine that produces 170 bhp power and 420 Nm torque while mated to a 10-speed automatic transmission. Ford Endeavour BSIV, on the other hand, used to draw power from a 2.2-litre diesel engine and a 3.2-litre diesel engine. The 2.2-litre diesel engine churned out 168bhp and 360Nm while the 3.2-litre diesel engine delivered 200bhp and 420Nm.
The BSVI Ford Endeavour comes with a minor cosmetic update. Upfront, it gets a reworked grille. It also gets three slimmer horizontal slats. The headlamps have been restyled partially. The faux vent at the fender displays the ‘Endeavour’ badge instead of reflecting the engine capacity. The front bumper is also slightly reworked. In case of the BSIV Ford Endeavour, it featured two thick horizontal slats upfront with a chrome grille. The side profile and the rear end of the BSVI model remain unchanged
The cabin design & layout remains identical to the BSIV model. The BSIV model boasted of a host of features that included dual-zone climate control along with vents for the 2nd and 3rd-row passengers and centre armrest with cup holder as standard. The Titanium+ variant also had a panoramic sunroof. The cabin was also equipped with an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system powered by Ford’s SYNC3 connectivity suite and integrated Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. It also featured a multi-functional steering wheel along with a semi digital instrument cluster.
On the other hand, the interior features of the BSVI model remain unchanged except for the addition of an updated list of features that include 8-inch SYNC3 touchscreen infotainment unit integrated with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, active noise cancelling, handsfree parking, panoramic sunroof, powered driver seat and semi-digital instrument cluster. Other additional features include a push-button start and a powered co-driver seat.
On the safety front, the BSIV model came with six airbags, ABS with EBS, rear parking camera, hill launch assist, tyre pressure monitor and keyless entry with Ford Mykey. The Titanium+ variant had an additional airbag along with front parking sensors, electrochromic IRVM and hill descent control.
In the case of the BSVI model, the safety features remain unchanged except that the top-spec model features seven airbags, front and rear parking sensors, semi-automatic parallel park assist and 8-way power-adjustable front seats.
