Hyundai India is readying the 2020 Tucson facelift as it is going to be its next vehicle launch in the country. Having made its global debut at the 2019 Los Angeles Auto Show, it will be available in two trims: GL Option and GLS. The 2020 Hyundai Tucson facelift has received a cosmetic makeover with fresh styling and new features while powered by BS6 compliant 2.0L petrol and diesel engines. The range-topping SUV in Hyundai's portfolio will take on the likes of Jeep Compass and Honda CR-V in the Indian market.
Recently, Tarun Garg, Business Head, Hyundai India, in an interaction with folks at AutoCar India, revealed that the Tucson launch is on track and it will be launched only when the nationwide lockdown is completely lifted by the Union Government. Though, auto enthusiasts in India have already had a glimpse of the new SUV at the 2020 Auto Expo in February. The styling updates to the SUV include a new cascading front grille with headlamp design, front and rear bumpers and tail-lamp cluster. However, the overall silhouette of the SUV remains unchanged. The cabin boasts of a new dashboard while an 8-inch free-standing touchscreen infotainment system with Blue Link connected car technology is the main highlight of the SUV.
The company has equipped the 2020 Tucson facelift with a few never-seen-before features in the form of wireless chargers, panoramic sunroof and electric front-passenger seat adjustment. Mechanically, it gets the updated versions of both the 2.0L petrol and diesel engines from the existing model with BS6 compliance. The naturally aspirated 4-cylinder petrol motor belts out 150bhp and 192Nm while the turbocharged 4-cylinder diesel engine generates maximum power output of 182bhp and peak torque performance of 400Nm. Both the engines are offered with a torque converter automatic transmission as standard. The range-topping GLS trim will also feature a 4x4 drive system. The 2020 Hyundai Tucson facelift price is expected to be on the higher side as compared to the ongoing model.
