Mercedes has revealed the facelift of the GLC SUV

The newly facelifted version of the Mercedes GLC has been finally out of covers before the Geneva Motor Show 2019. The SUV is now more stylish, better equipped and comes with company’s new line of petrol and diesel engines. The GLC now gets a AI-based latest generation of MBUX infotainment system with gesture and voice controlled functions. The GLC now also gets an option of a 12.3 inch full digital instrument cluster along with company’s MBUX infotainment which would be available in 7 and 10.25 inch display options.

Visually the 2020 Mercedes GLC looks the same as its predecessor but there are a host of design changes and elements which set it apart from its predecessor. A newly designed grille and redesigned headlamps which come equipped with LED DRLs , new tail lights and restyled bumpers with angular air intakes. The exhaust is also newly designed exhaust tips with sharp edged styling as compared to its predecessors. The cabin also offers new interior trims.

The base line has black interiors and the higher spec models have a piano lacquer finish along with two new wooden surface finishes; an open-pore ash wood and walnut respectively. The steering wheel also gets updated with a new spoke design. The GLC also carries a host of safety features which include Active Distance Assist DISTRONIC, Active Steering Assist , Active Speed Limit Assist , Active Lane Keeping Assist , Active Blind Spot Assist to name a few.

Powering The 2020 GLC are the new variants of the German manufacturer’s petrol and diesel engines.

The GLC 300 4MATIC, GLC 220d 4MATIC and the GLC 300d 4MATIC get a 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine that makes about 255 BHP and 370 Nm of peak torque. An addition of an electric motor also adds to the power figures. The 2.0-litre diesel engine powering the 220d makes 192 BHP and 400 Nm of torque, while the diesel engine in the 300d model makes 241 BHP and 500 Nm of peak torque. All the models come mated to the company’s 9G-TRONIC automatic transmission.
