The 2020 next-gen Triumph Street Triple RS will be launched on March 25 in the Indian market. It will be the first BS6 compliant product from the British bike maker in India. The new motorcycle is expected to be priced around Rs 12 Lakhs (Ex. Showroom) while it will come with substantial updates over the ongoing model which is priced at Rs 11.13 Lakhs. The 2020 Street Triple RS will be pitted against the likes of Yamaha MT-09, KTM 790 Duke and the Ducati Monster 821 in the country.
As for the styling, it appears to be an all new model as the company has changed everything - be it headlamp, be it flyscreen or be it the side panels. Even the seat cowl and belly pan has been redesigned from the ground. The reaer profile boasts of a new LED tail-lamp cluster with DRLs. The huge TFT instrument console has been retained from the current model, albeit with a few updates in the form of new graphics, Bluetooth connectivity and GoPro controls. All of the aforementioned functions are enabled by an accessory chip. The new bike will ride on the latest Supercorsa SP V3 Pirelli tyres with ride modes and traction control as standard. However, it is still bereft of IMU-assisted electronics.
Mechanically, the 2020 next-gen Triumph Street Triple will come packed with a BS6 compliant 756cc liquid cooled in-line triple petrol which generates top power of 123bhp and peak torque of 79Nm. The engine has been updated thoroughly by the company and it has resulted in a torque hike of 2Nm from present model's 77Nm. The engine is linked to a 6-speed transmission with up/down quickshifter. The suspension duties are helmed by a fully adjustable Showa fork at front and an Öhlins STX40 monoshock at the rear while Brembo M50 Monobloc calipers shoulder the braking responsibilities. The bookings for the motorcycle have started at all the Triumph authorized dealerships.
