Toyota has taken off the covers of the next generation Corolla sedan which will be launched in India too.
World’s largest carmaker Toyota has unveiled the next generation of the Corolla. The Corolla has been one of the best-selling cars of the company worldwide. The new car gets an all-new design and is packed with features.
The new Corolla will be manufactured on the Toyota New Global Architecture (TNGA) platform. The car gets a completely new exterior and interior design and many equipment upgrades. The car now comes with a larger front grille along with projector headlamps with LED DRLs. From the side profile, the car looks very belligerent. The LED taillamps, thin spoiler and faux diffuser complete the rear of the car.
On the inside, there will be an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system which gets Android Auto, Apple CarPlay and Amazon Alexa connectivity. The materials used in the interior are of premium quality. The car will be launched in five variants in the US market. Safety-wise the Corolla will have ABS, multiple airbags, automatic high and low beam, a pedestrian-detecting pre-collision system, lane departure warning and lane keep assist.
The offshore Toyota Corolla models will get the new 2.0-litre engine but in our market, we expect the company to use the current generation’s engine. For the first time, the Corolla will come with a hybrid drivetrain. The details of the powertrain of the vehicle for India is yet to be confirmed but we expect Toyota to bring this vehicle in the coming year.
