TVS Motor Company has introduced Apache RTR 200 4V with dual-channel ABS today in the Indian market

TVS Motor Company has launched its Apache RTR 200 4V motorcycle with dual-channel ABS today at a starting price of Rs 1.31 lakh (ex-showroom). This new motorcycle gets innovative segment-first features and a new colour option.

In terms of features, the 2020 TVS Apache 200 4V gets 3 first-in-segment riding modes. These are Sport, Urban, and Rain. The bike also offers a ride mode switch which enables the rider to change the modes according to his or her own preferences while being on the move. Furthermore, the company has equipped the motorcycle with first-in-segment Glide Through Traffic or GTT. This particular feature helps the engine rev up and glide through easily in heavy traffic.

The two-wheeler also features first-in-segment adjustable front suspension. This feature further allows the rider to choose between a plush ride or a track ride. The new Showa rear suspension comes with adjustable brakes and a clutch lever with a 3-step adjustment for the best ergonomic feel and comfort. The rest of the hardware remains unchanged. The New RTR 200 4V sits on a double cradle chassis. Braking duties are carried out by petal disc brakes at both ends along with dual-channel ABS. The New TVS Apache RTR 200 4V with dual-channel ABS will now be available in three colours namely, Gloss Black, Pearl White, and the newly launched Matte Blue. The new shade, Matte Blue, is inspired from the TVS OMC race bike.

"The Apache series has been a testament to our commitment of delivering technological prowess to our aspirational customers and racing enthusiasts since its inception in 2005. In line with this ethos, we are excited to introduce our new TVS Apache RTR 200 4V motorcycle that offers key segment-first features and technologies which will further add to our philosophy of ensuring customer delight as we celebrate this prolific sales milestone,” commented Meghashyam Dighole, Head - (Marketing) Premium Motorcycles, TVS Motor Company on the occasion of the launch.

The equipment list of the bike remains identical to the standard model. It continues to feature a SmartXonnect Bluetooth console that allows the rider to attend calls, get text alerts, and use turn-by-turn navigation features. Mechanically, it is powered by a 197.7cc single-cylinder, air-cooled, fuel-injected motor that generates 20.5 bhp power and 16.8 Nm torque. The engine is linked to a 6-speed gearbox with a slipper clutch and assist. In comparison to its BS4 counterpart, the BS6 version makes the same power but 1.3 NM less torque.
