The duo is expected to launch in the Indian market once the national lockdown is lifted on May 3, 2020. The 2020 Yamaha FZ 25 BS6 will rival the likes of Suzuki Gixxer 250 BS6 and the Bajaj Dominar 250 BS6 in the country. The new bike will be offered in two paint schemes - Metallic Black and Racing Blue - with black colored alloy wheels.
The 2020 Yamaha FZ 25 BS6 comes with a handful of cosmetic updates as well in the form of newly designed bi-functional type single headlamp for high as well as low beam and LED DRL. Some of the other features of the motorcycle include an all-digital instrument cluster, Side stand engine cut off, Engine cowl, Split seat, Sporty exhaust, Alloy wheels, tubeless tyres etc. among others. The front suspension would boast of telescopic forks while the rear suspension gets 7-step adjustable mono-cross function. The braking duties are helmed by a 282 mm front disc and 220 mm rear disc while a dual channel Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) comes as a standard feature. Under the hood, the 2020 Yamaha FZ 25 will have a BS6 compliant 249cc single-cylinder twin-valve air-cooled SOHC petrol engine with fuel injection technology. The engine will make top power of 20.7bhp at 8000rpm and peak torque of 20.1Nm at 6000rpm while linked to a 5-speed manual transmission. The 2020 Yamaha FZS 25 BS6 is also identical to the FZ 25 in terms of features, styling and engine specifications. However, since it is a more premium offering than the FZ 25, it receives a few extra dual-tone colour schemes, which includes Patina Green with golden alloy wheels, Dark Matte Blue with gold-coloured alloy wheels and White Vermilion with blackened out alloy wheels. The prices of both the motorcycles are expected to be out in the next couple of weeks.
