The 2021 Audi e-tron all-electric SUV will be launched in two body styles and three variants

Audi has confirmed that the e-tron electric SUV will be launched on July 22, 2021, in India. The German automaker has also listed the SUV on the Indian website. Furthermore, it has also started arriving across Audi dealerships in the country. The e-tron electric SUV will be brought to India as a Completely Built Unit (CBU). Audi’s first all-electric SUV will be offered in two body styles - SUV & Sportback, and three variants - 50, 55, & 55 Sportback. We can expect the SUV to fall in the price range of Rs 99 lakh - Rs 1.2 crore (ex-showroom). 




In terms of design, the e-tron electric SUV sports a minimalistic design. Upfront, it features Audi’s signature single-piece grille with vertical struts flanked by Matrix LED headlamps. The e-tron specific signature is positioned in the DRLs. The rear end boasts of slats in the wide diffuser. The e-tron logo on the charging flap and the brake calipers gets an orange color. Dimensionally, the upcoming Audi e-tron measures 4901mm in length, 1935mm in width, and 1616mm in height. The five-seat electric SUV comes with a wheelbase of 2928mm and a luggage capacity of 660 litre. 

Talking about the interiors of the electric AUV, it's similar to the other top-of-the-range Audi models like the A6, A8L, and Q8. In terms of features, it comes with a 10.1-inch MMI infotainment system along with a separate screen for climate controls. The infotainment unit is compatible with Apple Carplay & Android Auto. The SUV also features a digital driver display with EV-specific graphics. Other feature highlights include a panoramic sunroof, powered front seats, wireless phone charger, four-zone climate control, and a powered tailgate. The India-spec model will get three color options - Black, Black/Brown, and Black/Beige. The safety kit comprises eight airbags, ABS with EBD, electronic stability control, tyre pressure monitoring system, and front & rear parking sensors. 


Performance-wise, the Audi e-Tron in the global market is powered by two electric motors, one for each axle, along with a 95 kWh battery pack. This setup produces a maximum power output of 330 bhp and a peak torque of 561 Nm in standard mode. While in the sport mode, it delivers 396.5 bhp power and 664 Nm peak torque. Both body styles - SUV and Sportback, get an all-wheel-drive system as standard. Furthermore, the Audi e-tron covers more than 400 km on a single charge in the WLTP test cycle. Besides these, the Audi Drive Select will offer seven profiles that can be used in different driving conditions. Once launched, the electric SUV will rival the likes of Mercedes Benz EQC and Jaguar I-Pace.
