Isuzu Motors India will launch the BS6 D-Max V-Cross in the first week of May 2021 in the country. However, prior to the official launch, various details such as variants, features and engine specs of the pick-up truck have been leaked online. The BS6 Isuzu D-Max V-Cross will be offered in two trims namely Z and Z Prestige in the Indian market. The Z variant will get a front-wheel-drive setup while the Z Prestige grade will boast of a four-wheel-drive system with shift-on-the-fly and high torque mode.
As per the leaked document, the 2021 Isuzu D-Max V-Cross will measure 5295mm in length, 1860mm in width and 1840mm in height while having a wheelbase of 3095mm. The pickup will ride on 18-inch wheels. Isuzu D-Max V-Cross Z will weigh 1890 kgs while the top-end Z Prestige variant will be nearly 100 kgs heavier at 1990 kgs due to the inclusion of a 4x4 drive system. As far as styling is concerned, it will flaunt bi-LED projector headlamps with LED DRLs upfront. The side profile will be identical to the outgoing BS4 version with elements like roof rails, side steps and blacked out B-pillars. The rear profile will consist of a LED tail-lamp cluster and slightly tweaked bumper.
The interior features will include automatic climate control, keyless entry & go, rear parking sensors, auto down power windows and a touchscreen infotainment system as standard. The top-end Z Prestige will receive a plethora of added features in the form of electrically adjustable driver seat, music system with 8-speakers and cruise control. As for safety features, the pick up will be available with four airbags, Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD), Electronic Stability Control (ESC), Hill Start Assist (HSA) and Hill Descent Control (HDC). Under the bonnet, the company has planted a BS6 compliant 1.9L 4-cylinder turbocharged CRDi diesel engine which will develop top power of 161bhp at 3600rpm and peak torque of 360Nm between 2000-2500rpm, linked to a 6-speed automatic gearbox.
