The 2021 BS6 Isuzu MU-X has been launched in the Indian market at a starting price of Rs 33.23 Lakhs (Ex. Showroom, Chennai). It has been introduced in two variants namely 4x2 AT and 4x4 AT. The 7-seater SUV comes with a few minor aesthetic updates while powered by a new BS6 compliant 1.9L diesel engine in place of the existing 3.0L diesel engine. Just so you all know, the 2021 BS6 Isuzu MU-X will take on the likes of Toyota Fortuner, Ford Endeavour, Mahindra Alturas and MG Gloster in the Indian market.
As far as looks are concerned, the 2021 MU-X SUV flaunts the same tiger-inspired front fascia with thick chrome grille and bi-LED projector headlamps. The headlamps also get integrated LED DRLs while other styling elements include 18-inch alloy wheels, muscular wheel arches and split LED tail-lamp cluster. The cabin boasts of soft leather seats with adjustable headrests for all seats. Comprising of a twin cockpit design, it also gets the one touch split/fold seats in both the second and third rows. Some of the standard features in the SUV are automatic climate control, steering mounted controls, touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay & Android Auto, ABS with EBD, traction control and six airbags.

Mechanically, the 2021 Isuzu MU-X draws power from a BS6 compliant lightweight 1.9L Ddi diesel engine. The engine will produce maximum power output of 160bhp and peak torque performance of 320Nm between 2000-2500rpm. The engine will be linked to a new 6-speed sequential shift automatic transmission as standard with both the 4x2 and 4x4 variants. The 4x4 variant comes with a ‘shift-on-the-fly’ 4x4 select dial as standard. There is no manual gearbox on offer even as an option with the SUV. The bookings and deliveries of the BS6 MU-X will start from today itself as the demo units and test drive vehicles have already reached Isuzu dealerships.
