Skoda Unveils First-Look at 4th-Generation Superb; Debut Ahead on November 2

Skoda has finally taken off the veil from their 4th generation Superb sedan. This model was discontinued earlier this year because of BS6 phase 2 emission norms and is set to launch globally next month.

Long-overdue, Skoda 4th generation Superb sedan has finally been revealed as it’s first-look in outed today. The model is all set to debut on November 2 in global markets. The brand revealed 2023 Superb glimpses and official look before the official reveal today. Beautifully chiselled in orange colour, the reveal of 4th-gen Superb suggests certain updates in its exterior showcased by a new design language. The Skoda Superb has been one of the flagship models of the Czech carmaker in India but was earlier this year discontinued because of BS6 phase 2 emission norms. 

This brand-new Skoda Superb will be accessible in two body shapes. Other than the sedan version, Skoda is all set to launch Superb in Combi avatar in global markets. The unveiled sketches showcase that the 2023 Superb sedan will be equipped with the brand's new language called Modern Solid. This language includes striking LED headlights, a wider grille, and slimmer headlights with Matrix LED technology.

This 4th generation Superb sedan is based on the similar brand’s MQB platform. Henceforth, it is likely possible that the sedan will experience similar dimensions like that of the outgoing version. It is anticipated to be equipped with a 2,841 mm wheelbase.

But, the carmaker has made several changes to the interior of the 2023 Superb. These changes feature an advanced Head- Up display with AR or augmented reality, a new 12.9 inch touchscreen infotainment system, and a new 10-inch digital instrument console. Prospective customers can expect new rotary buttons with integrated screens to  access main functions like climate control. 

Under the bonnet, the new Skoda Superb is expected to be powered by a set of TSI petrol, plug-in hybrid engines, and TDI diesel. This model is expected to churn out horsepower between 150 hp-265 hp. The plug-in hybrid variant will be equipped with Skoda’s e TSI technology coupled with a 48V battery. The 2023 Skoda electric version will only be able to deliver only 100 kms of driving range.

The Czech carmaker is likely to launch the 2023 Superb in India soon. Furthermore, there is no official statement presented by the brand’s official as to when Indian customers can expect the model to set its foot on the Indian roads.
