Ducati India has launched the 2021 Monster at a starting price of Rs 10.99 Lakhs (Ex. Showroom, India) in the country. The bookings for the motorcycle have begun at Ducati dealerships in Delhi – NCR, Mumbai, Pune, Ahmedabad, Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Kochi, Kolkata, and Chennai. The 2021 Ducati Monster deliveries will start immediately across the country. The Monster is Ducati's best-seller with over 3.50 Lakh units sold till date ever since it was first introduced nearly 28 years back in 1993.

Being based on the same aluminium front frame as the Panigale V4, the 2021 Ducati Monster will be available in two color schemes namely Ducati Red & Dark Stealth with black wheels and Aviator Grey with GP Red wheels. The bike has a dry weight of only 166 kgs while features include Cornering ABS, Traction Control, Launch Control and  Wheelie Control. It is also equipped with three riding modes in the form of Sport, Urban, and Touring. Bipul Chandra, managing director, Ducati India, said, “The new Monster is a true star for everyone at Borgo Panigale. A brand name that has marked the history of Ducati like few others, by becoming our best-selling model ever as Ducati has sold more than 350,000 motorcycles since the Monster was first introduced in 1993.”

Mechanically, the 2021 Ducati Monster is powered by a BS6 compliant 937 cc Testastretta 11° L-twin petrol engine with Desmodromic distribution. It is more powerful than the preceding model while being lighter in weight by 2.4 kgs. The power output and torque performance stands at 111 bhp at 9250 rpm and 93 Nm at 6500 rpm, respectively. The engine is mated to a 6-speed gearbox with a bi-directional quick-shifter. Ducati also launched the 2021 Monster Plus at a price point of Rs 11.24 Lakhs (Ex. Showroom, India) in the Indian market. “The new Monster is a completely new bike, designed to be more sporty, light, and easy to ride, to make it accessible to new riders as well as to ones that are more experienced,” he added.
