Production-Ready KTM RC 2021 spotted testing without camouflage

KTM RC390 was earlier spotted testing on the roads and now we have the spy shots of RC200 making the waves on the internet. The 2021 KTM RC200  was spied without any camouflage indicating this would be the production-ready model. There is a heightened buzz around the faired sports motorcycle making its way to the Indian market either this year end or by the first half of 2021. There are subtle design differences between the KTM RC 390 sporting an LED headlamp while the RC 200 comes with a halogen headlight. Also, the RC 200 does not come with a side-swept exhaust but the majority of design elements are inspired by the 2021 RC 390. We can safely assume that the Austrian Manufacturer will price the 2021 KTM RC 200 competitively in the Indian market. Currently, the KTM RC 200 BS6 retails at Rs 2 lakhs (ex-showroom, India) so expect a premium of Rs 40,000 - Rs 50,000 on the upcoming model.

Talking about the design updates, the front fascia will sport a revamped windshield and a wider fairing. 2021 RC 200 will be more aerodynamically efficient than the current model with better wind protection for the rider. The bike’s front-end is inspired by RC8. For better control, it will come equipped with a revamped braking system. The front disc is bigger, thinner than the outgoing model thus enhancing the braking experience for the user. The instrument cluster is expected to be a fully digital-one while the LED tail-lamp will carry over from the current-gen model.

The company also swaps the cowl like unit for the traditional rear seat in the new-generation RC200. The split trellis frame with a rear bolt-on sub-frame is currently seen on the KTM Duke range of bikes except for the 125 Duke. The 2021 KTM RC 200 will be built on the same framework and is much more aggressive in its look with low clip-on handlebars and rear-set footpegs.

Talking about the performance, the new-gen KTM RC 200 will be powered by a liquid-cooled 199.5 cc engine. The same unit powers the current KTM RC 200 model. The bike will deliver 25 bhp of maximum power output and 19 Nm of peak torque. Transmission duties will be taken care of by a 6-speed sequential gearbox with a slipper clutch. The expectation is that the new model will come with a bi-directional quick-shifter.
