The new Suzuki Hayabusa comes with subtle cosmetic and functionality updates
2021 Suzuki Hayabusa has been launched at a starting price of Rs 16.4 lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi) in the country today. The deliveries of the motorcycle will begin from mid-May 2021. Interested buyers can easily book the motorcycle at a booking amount of Rs 1,00,000 through 'Suzuki at your Doorstep'. The third-gen Hayabusa gets a series of updates both in terms of design and functionality.
The front fascia of the bike gets an aggressive look. Design bits include an LED headlight, new body panels, flyscreen, LED indicators, fairing-mounted wing mirrors, and a newly designed LED tail light.
The new Hayabusa comes equipped with a 6-axis IMU and Suzuki Drive Mode Selector Alpha (SDMS-a). The former consists of traction control, engine brake control, anti-wheelie control, three power modes, hill hold control, launch control, cornering ABS, and cruise control. While, the latter offers the choice between three factory presets (A: Active, B: Basic, and C: Comfort) and three user-defined settings (U1, U2, and U3). The supersport tourer features a TFT LCD screen which is positioned between the analogue tachometer and speedometer. It further features an Active Speed Limiter, which is a first in the motorcycle industry. This feature allows the rider to set a speed limit that the bike will not exceed. The new Hayabusa will be sold in three colors - Glass Sparkle Black/ Candy Burnt Gold, Metallic Mat Sword Silver/ Candy Daring Red, and Pearl Brilliant White/ Metallic Mat Stellar Blue.
The 2021 Hayabusa is powered by a revised 1340cc inline four-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine that churns out 187 bhp power and 150 Nm peak torque. In comparison to the outgoing model, the power output and peak torque have gone down. The motor is mated to a 6-speed and comes with lighter pistons, new connecting rods and fuel injectors. The new bike further continues to sit on the twin-spar aluminium frame. Suspension duties are taken care of by the latest Kayaba setup. In terms of the brakes, the new bike gets discs with Brembo’s Stylema calipers.
