Tata Motors has launched the all-new Tigor EV at a starting price of Rs 11.99 Lakhs (Ex-showroom – One nation, one price) in the country. The all-electric sedan has been presented in four variants namely XE, XM, XZ+ and XZ+ Dual Tone. The 2021 Tata Tigor EV deliveries will start from today for private buyers as earlier it was limited to fleet taxi operators. Powered by Tata Motors' high voltage Ziptron EV architecture, the Tigor EV is identical to its ICE (petrol) version in terms of styling, save for a very few subtle updates.
The sedan comes with an IP 67 rated battery pack which gets impact-resistant casing with AIS - 048 standard for nail penetration at cell level. The 26-kWh liquid-cooled high energy density battery pack delivers power output of 74 bhp and peak torque of 170 Nm. It returns an ARAI certified range of 306 kilometers (under standard testing conditions). The 2021 Tigor EV is compatible with globally acceptable CCS2 charging protocol and can be fast-charged as well as slow-charged from any 15 A plug point. Presently, the company has a market share of 70 percent in the electric vehicle personal segment. The sedan is being offered with an 8 year and 160,000 KM battery and motor warranty.
Some of the notable features in the sedan include electrically adjustable and foldable ORVMs, smart key with push button start and portable charging cable. In addition, the 2021 Tigor EV also boasts of 30+ connected car features including remote commands and remote diagnostics. It has received a 4 star rating for adult (12.00 points out of 17.00) and child (37.24 points out of 49.00) occupant protection by the Global NCAP.
