Volkswagen has commenced the deliveries of the 2021 Tiguan in the country. To everyone’s amazement, units allotted for the first quarter of 2022 are sold out. The updated model was launched in December last year at a starting price of Rs 31.99 lakhs (ex-showroom).
The Volkswagen Tiguan facelift is based on the brand’s MQB platform. It is offered as a single, fully-loaded variant - Elegance. Upfront, the SUV features a broad radiator grille with a VW logo in the centre. In addition, it gets LED matrix headlights with IQ and a bumper with piano black finish inserts. Other design bits include dark LED combination tail lamps and 18-inch Frankfurt design alloy wheels. Furthermore, the 2021 Tiguan is offered in a total of seven color options namely Nightshade Blue, Oryx White with Pearl effect, Dolphin Gray, Kings Red, Pure White, Deep Black, and Reflex Silver.

The safety kit of the updated SUV comprises six airbags, Electronic Stability Control (ESC), Electronic Differential Lock (EDL), hill descent control, active TPMS, anti-lock braking system (ABS), anti-slip regulation (ASR), engine drag torque control (EDTC), 3-point seat belts, and many more.
Performance-wise, the updated Tiguan is powered by a 2.0-litre TSI petrol engine that churns out a top power of 187 bhp and a peak torque of 320 Nm. The motor is further linked to a 7-speed DSG automatic gearbox with a 4MOTION all-wheel-drive system as standard fitment.
