Hyundai Creta facelift to get major exterior and interior tweaks along with mechanical updates
Hyundai launched the second-generation Creta in the Indian market last year. Unlike the previous-gen model, the new-gen Creta came with bold and unique styling. This seemed to have worked in Hyundai’s favor as the 2020 Creta is the best-selling SUV in India at present. Now it seems that the South Korean automaker is planning to give a mid-life update to the SUV. Recently, the test mules of the Hyundai Creta facelift have been spotted doing test runs. The images for the same have been leaked online.
As per the images, the overall body shell of the Creta facelift is likely to look the same as the current Creta on sale. However, it might get some major design changes, especially on the front. In the images, the 2022 Hyundai Creta is seen featuring the new Tucson’s bold grille design. The split headlamps have been restyled and will be positioned next to the grille on each corner. It might also get half-mirror type LED DRLs that are only visible when they are switched on. The side profile does not seem to get any significant changes in comparison to the current model. Moving on to the rear section, it might also get some major tweaks in the form of updated tail lamps. Talking about the interiors, it is likely to remain unchanged. However, Hyundai might add some new features and new upholstery options.
Performance-wise, the Hyundai Creta currently on sale comes with three engine options - 1.5-litre naturally-aspirated petrol, 1.5-litre turbo-diesel, and 1.4-litre turbo-petrol engine. As for the facelifted version of Creta, it is still not sure what powertrain changes could be seen. However, it is being speculated that the upcoming Creta facelift might get updates like mild-hybrid tech and autonomous features.
