2022 Maruti Celerio CNG Launched at Rs 6.58 Lakhs

Being based on the VXi trim, the 2022 Maruti Celerio CNG will directly rival Hyundai Santro CNG and Tata Tiago CNG

Maruti Suzuki has launched the 2022 Celerio CNG at a sticker price of Rs 6.58 Lakhs (Ex-showroom – Delhi) in the country. The company had launched the new-gen hatchback in petrol-only avatar in November last year. The new-gen Maruti Celerio has received more than 25,000 bookings in just two months of its launch while over 6 Lakh units of the hatch have been sold till date. Being based on the VXi trim, the 2022 Maruti Celerio CNG will directly rival Hyundai Santro CNG and Tata Tiago CNG in the Indian market.

The 2022 Celerio CNG carries the same design and features as its petrol counterpart. Powered by the next-generation 1.0L Dual Jet Dual VVT K-Series petrol engine, it comes with a factory fitted S-CNG kit. Though the power output and torque performance have dipped to 56 bhp at 5300 rpm and 82.1 Nm at 3400 rpm as compared to the petrol version's 64 bhp at 5500 rpm and 89 Nm at 3500 rpm, respectively. The hatch has a CNG tank capacity of 60 litres (water filling capacity) while it returns a best-in-segment mileage of 35.60 km/kg. It is equipped with dual interdependent ECUs (Electronic Control Units) and an intelligent injection system as standard fitments.
