Maruti Suzuki has been working on the 2022 Vitara Brezza facelift for the last few months. The company's sub-compact SUV is all set to receive a major makeover by mid of next year as it has been spotted testing on the Indian roads for the very first time. The spy-images of the heavily camouflaged test mule indicates that it is a pre-production prototype. The 2022 Maruti Vitara Brezza is one of the most popular sub 4-m SUV's in the Indian market and it rivals Hyundai Venue, Kia Sonet, Tata Nexon, Nissan Magnite and Renault Kiger.
Going by the spy-shots, the test mule appears identical to the ongoing version of the Vitara Brezza with flared wheel arches and sloping roofline. It has been learnt that the 2022 Maruti Vitara Brezza facelift will retain the Suzuki Global C architecture from the current model. It underwent safety tests three years back in 2018 by Global NCAP and scored an impressive 4-star rating. The cosmetic updates in the facelifted version could include redesigned bumpers, tweaked front grille and repositioning of the license plate. As far as interior cabin is concerned, the 2022 Vitara Brezza will get a new upholstery with several upmarket features such as 6-airbags and a bigger touchscreen infotainment system with connected car technology.

Mechanically, the 2022 Maruti Vitara Brezza facelift is expected to carry the same 1.5L 4-cylinder petrol engine as the present model. This engine will not see any surge in the power output and torque delivery as it will continue to deliver 104 bhp and 138 Nm. It will be linked to a 5-speed manual transmission as standard. There is word that Maruti could replace the ageing 4-speed torque converter automatic unit with a new 6-speed automatic transmission. However, nothing is confirmed as of now and we need to wait for a few months before things get clear. Meanwhile, in other news, Maruti Suzuki is all set to launch the new-gen Celerio hatchback on November 10, 2021 in the Indian market.
