The 2022 Mercedes Benz C-Class has been awarded the highest 5-star safety rating by Euro NCAP. The tested unit was a left-hand-drive C 180 AMG Line variant which came fitted with an active bonnet. In addition, Mercedes-Benz’s Car-to-X Communication, part of the optional Mercedes-me service, was given a Euro NCAP Advanced reward. The sedan was launched in the Indian market a few days back in a price range of Rs 55-61 Lakhs (Ex. Showroom, India). The 2022 C-Class was introduced in three trims namely C 200, C 220 d and C 300d.
The 2022 Mercedes Benz C Class is equipped with a plethora of safety features in the form of 7-airbags, Seatbelt Pretensioners with Loadlimiters, AEB Vulnerable Road Users, AEB Car-to-Car, Speed Assistance and Lane Assist System. Moreover, AEB Pedestrian (Reverse) is offered as an optional feature with the sedan. The passenger compartment of the C-Class remained stable in the frontal offset test. It showed good protection of the knees and femurs of both the driver and passenger. A geometric analysis of the rear seats also indicated good whiplash protection. The C-Class has an advanced eCall system which alerts the emergency services in the event of a crash. The car also has a system which applies the brakes after an impact, to avoid secondary collisions.
