MG Motor India has launched its 2024 Astor entry-level SUV in the Indian market. The updated Astor is available at a price of INR 9.98 lakh (ex-showroom). The SUV comes in five variants: Shine, Sprint (new), Select, Savvy Pro, and Sharp Pro. It has several new features, but the automaker has not made any mechanical or cosmetic changes to the entry-level SUV.
The 2024 MG Astor comes equipped with several updated features, including a wireless charger, ventilated front seats, auto-dimming IRVM, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity, panoramic sunroof, Level 2 ADAS suite, and a 360-degree surround camera. The SUV comes loaded with a Jio-powered voice recognition system, i-Smart 2.0, over 80 connected features, a digital key function, and an anti-theft feature. With the help of a voice recognition system, the driver can give voice commands related to weather, calculators, cricket updates, clocks, horoscopes, date and time information, news, and dictionaries.

It continues to get features like automatic climate control, cruise control, electric adjustment for the driver seat, panoramic sunroof, and an Advanced Driver Aids System. The MG Astor is powered by two petrol engines: a 1.5-litre NA petrol engine and a 1.3-litre turbo-petrol motor. The latter generates 138 bhp of maximum power at 5,600 rpm and 144 Nm of peak torque at 3,600 rpm. It comes with a six-speed torque converter AT transmission. The naturally aspirated unit, on the other hand, produces 108 bhp at 6,000 rpm and a peak torque of 144 Nm at 4,400 rpm. It is mated to a five-speed manual or CVT AT transmission.
The 1.5-litre NA petrol engine is equipped in all variants except the Savvy Pro, while the automatic transmission is only available in the Savvy Pro, Sharp Pro, and Select. The turbo-petrol engine on the other side is only equipped in the Savvy Pro variant.
