Renault’s UK partner Dacia has finally revealed the new Duster SUV in Portugal. The Duster SUV is no longer on sale in India, but the company has been selling it in other countries for the past 13 years. Renault discontinued this model in the Indian market earlier this year due to stricter emission rules. The new Duster is likely to be launched in India in the second half of 2025.
The 2024 Duster has five driving modes: Eco, Auto, Mud/Sand, Snow, and Off-road. It is built on the CMF-B platform, which was first used on the Sandero and Logan models. The new CMF-B platform has helped in adding extra space for the passengers and luggage, and it has also aided in the electrification of the all-new Duster.

The new Renault Duster comes with two digital screens: a new 7-inch digital cluster and a 10.1-inch touchscreen for infotainment duties. It has a double-layer dashboard that is available in light and dark gray shades. The centre console is positioned slightly toward the driver. Below the centre AC vents is a horizontal panel that houses several buttons to control the HVAC system. The 2024 Duster also has 4x4 terrain control. The 4x4 variants have a 217 mm ground clearance, a 31° approach angle, and a 36° departure angle. The front of the 2024 Duster looks similar to recent Dacia models that are sold globally.
The top-spec Duster has several features, including wireless Android Auto, wireless charging, automatic climate control, Apple CarPlay connectivity, and an Arkamys 3D sound system along with six speakers. Additionally, the new Duster SUV will also get ADAS technology incorporating automatic emergency braking: cyclist, pedestrian, vehicle, and bike detection; traffic sign recognition with speeding alert, lane change warning and assist, rear parking assistant, and more.
The new Duster SUV comes with three engine options: TCe 130, Eco-G 100, and Hybrid 140. The 4-cylinder 1.6-litre petrol unit comes paired with two e-motors and an electric AT gearbox. The petrol unit churns out 92 bhp, while one electric motor churns out 48 bhp, and the other motor is a high-voltage starter generator. The SUV also comes with a 1.2-kWh battery pack that can be charged via a regenerative braking system. However, the engine always starts on electric power.
The SUV also gets a 1.2-litre 3-cylinder turbocharged petrol unit that runs on the Miller cycle with a 48V mild hybrid motor. The e-motor helps the combustion engine when the car accelerates, and this also aids in minimizing average consumption. The 0.8 kWh battery equipped in the SUV is charged by the regenerative braking system. This turbocharged petrol powertrain will be available with a six-speed gearbox in the 4x4 and 4x2 variants. Lastly, there is also an LPG option that runs on gasoline as well. There are two tanks available in the SUV, one for LPG and the other for petrol, and both have a capacity of 50 litres. To change the fuel type, there is a button placed on the dashboard.
