Skoda Kodiaq scores 5 stars in Euro NCAP crash test

Skoda’s seven-seat SUV that’s headed here scored 92% for adult occupants, 77% for child passengers in the test.

The seven-seat Kodiaq scored a five-star rating in the Euro NCAP crash test. The car used was a left-hand drive 2.0 TDI Ambition variant. It weighs 1,635kg and is fitted with seven airbags (including a knee airbag), seatbelt pretensioners with load limiters, Isofix rear child seat mounts and seat belt reminder. This version of the Kodiaq also features autonomous emergency braking, speed assistance and an optional lane-assist system. Skoda’s SUV scored 92 percent for adult occupants, 77 percent for child occupants, 71 percent for pedestrians and 54 percent for its safety assist system.

Skoda will bring its flagship SUV here during the festival season and it will retail between ₹27 lakh and ₹32 lakh. When launched here, the Kodiaq will compete against Hyundai’s Santa Fe and Volkswagen’s Tiguan on one end and the Ford Endeavour and the Toyota Fortuner on the other.
