The fifth-generation Honda City which is the latest avatar of the Japanese sedan car is all set to make its world premiere this month at an event in Thailand. However, for India the car will make its first appearance at the Auto Expo 2020 event.

When launched, the car will get first in class features that would make the segment very competitive.

Earlier the sedan was spotted testing several times albeit with heavy camouflage. The sedan will get a complete exterior makeover along with the latest advanced features.

One can expect the new avatar to sport LED headlamps along with DRL(Daytime Running Lights). The bumper is also expected to be sportier than before.

Also, there are speculations about the dimensions of the new city as the company could increase the overall dimensions to increase the cabin space.

The 2020 Honda City is said to feature a newly designed digital instrument console and a large touchscreen infotainment system.

The infotainment system is expected to be compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

The dashboard is also expected to be redesigned with a notch-higher finish.

Some other features that you can expect in the new model are wireless charging, sunroof, power-adjustable front seats.

The car will be available in both petrol and diesel variants with direct injection technology.

Both the engine types would be BS-VI ready, keeping in mind the latest norms set to take place in 2020. The diesel variant could come with a CVT transmission while the petrol engine will get a 6-speed manual gearbox. Also, there are speculations that the petrol hybrid i-MMD (intelligent Multi-Mode Drive) might debut in India too.

In India, the Honda City is known to dominate the C-segment of sedans that comprises of the likes of, Volkswagen Vento, Toyota Yaris, Maruti Ciaz and Hyundai Verna. It is the time that will tell how the new Honda City is received in India.
