Kia India is all set to launch the all-electric EV6 crossover on June 2, 2022 in the country. It has been recently awarded the highest 5-star safety rating by Euro NCAP. Kia EV6 scored 90 percent and 86 percent in adult occupant protection and child occupant protection, respectively. It also bagged 87 percent points in safety assist due to the inclusion of modern safety features like 6-airbags, Front and rear seatbelt reminder system, Autonomous Emergency Braking, Speed Assistance System and Lane Support System.

The model tested was equipped with a long range battery and all-wheel-drive system while being a left hand drive unit. In case of a frontal offset test, the passenger compartment of the EV6 remained stable. Protection of the driver’s chest and lower leg was rated as marginal. With the exception of the chest of the rear passenger, protection of which was adequate, all critical body areas of both the driver and rear seat passenger were well protected. In both the side barrier test and the more severe pole impact, protection of all critical body areas was good and the crossover scored maximum points. Tests on the front seats and head restraints demonstrated good protection against whiplash injuries in the event of a rear-end collision.
