Kia EV6 will have its world premiere in the next few days via a digital event.

Kia Motors Corporation has released the first images of its EV6 all-electric crossover ahead of the world premiere. It is the company's first dedicated battery electric vehicle (BEV) which is based on Kia's ‘Opposites United’ design philosophy. Underpinning the brand's new Electric-Global Modular Platform (E-GMP), Kia EV has been developed through a collaboration between all three studios in the South Korean automaker’s global design network in Namyang (Korea), Frankfurt (Germany), and Irvine (California, US).

Speaking about the ‘Opposites United’ design language, it is based on five key design pillars: ‘Bold for Nature’, ‘Joy for Reason’, ‘Power to Progress’, ‘Technology for Life’, and ‘Tension for Serenity’. All the future Kia EVs will follow this design theme. Upfront, the EV6 crossover flaunts sleek and modern daytime running lights alongside the signature ‘Tiger Nose Grille’. The lights get a ‘sequential’ dynamic light pattern while flanked by a low air dam. The side profile features a swept-back windshield and a character line which runs along the bottom of the doors curving upwards towards the rear wheel arches. The rear end boasts of a sloping C-pillar with an integrated black glossy insert, roof spoiler and LED tail lamp cluster.

The cabin will comprise of a high-tech curved high-definition audio visual and navigation (AVN) screen. The instrument cluster is in front of the driver while the infotainment and navigation screen is positioned above the center console. Beneath the infotainment unit, the occupants can access HVAC (heating, ventilation and air conditioning) settings by using haptic ‘buttons’. The seats are lightweight as they been created from recycled plastic material. “EV6, as the first dedicated Kia EV, is a showcase of human-centered, progressive design and electrified power. We strongly believe EV6 is a compelling and relevant model for the new EV market,” said Karim Habib, Senior Vice President and Head of Global Design Center.
