All-New BMW S 1000 XR Launched at Rs 20.90 Lakhs

BMW S 1000 XR will be offered in a Pro variant in Ice Grey and Racing Red colour options.

BMW Motorrad India has launched the all-new S 1000 XR at a sticker price of Rs 20.90 Lakhs (Ex. Showroom, India) in the country. Being available as a completely built-up unit (CBU), it will be sold and serviced through the BMW Motorrad authorized dealer network. The test rides and deliveries will be initiated in accordance to all government directives on the lockdown period due to COVID -19 pandemic. BMW S 1000 XR will be offered in a Pro variant in Ice Grey and Racing Red colour options.

The 2020 BMW S 1000 XR gets the latest LED technology for the headlamp, taillight, indicator lights and instrument cluster. It also gets four riding modes: Rain, Road, Dynamic and Dynamic Pro. The ‘Dynamic Pro’ mode is fully configurable while throttle response, engine brake, ABS control (Anti-lock Braking System) and traction control, wheelie control (including the new ‘Power Wheelie’ setting) can be configured separately for the first time. The bike comes with a standard warranty for ‘three years, unlimited kilometers’, with an option to extend the warranty to fourth and fifth year. Furthermore, RoadSide Assistance and 24x7 365 days packages are also up for grabs.

BMW S 1000 XR Launched

Mechanically, BMW S 1000 XR is powered by a newly developed BS6 compliant 999cc in-line 4-cylinder engine which takes inspiration from the motor of BMW S 1000 RR. It develops a top power of 165bhp at 11000rpm and peak torque of 114Nm at 9250rpm. The 4th, 5th and 6th gears now have longer ratios, low noise level, lower fuel consumption and lower engine rpm at higher speeds. It does a 0-100kmph sprint in just 3.3 seconds while achieving a top speed of over 200kmph. It will directly rival  Ducati Multistrada 1260 S when it is re-launched with a BS6 engine. Mr. Arlindo Teixeira, acting President, BMW Group India said, “The all-new BMW S 1000 XR is an agile achiever that sets a new benchmark in the adventure sports segment.
