Ather 450S Electric Scooter Price Reduced by Up to INR 25,000

The company is trying to reach more buyers by reducing the price of the 450S. The electric scooter has become more affordable after the price reduction.

Ather Energy has reduced the price of its entry-level 450S electric scooter by up to INR 25,000. After the price revision, the 450S is available at a price of INR 1.09 lakh (ex-showroom, Bengaluru). The Pro Pack trim now comes at a price of INR 1.19 lakh (ex-showroom, Bengaluru), whereas the base trim is priced at INR 97,500 (ex-showroom, Delhi).

The Bengaluru-based startup has reduced the cost of the 450S base variant by INR 20,000, while the Pro Pack variant of the 450S gets a price reduction of INR 25,000. The price reduction comes as part of Ather Energy’s strategy, as it has claimed that it is planning to achieve immersive growth in the two-wheeler market. By implementing a price cut, the company is trying to reach more buyers, as the 450S electric scooter has now become more budget-friendly after the price reduction.

The Ather 450S scooter was launched in 2023 as Ather’s most affordable electric vehicle. It is built on the brand’s best selling 450 platform, which is also utilized for the 450X electric scooter. Although the 450S is an electric scooter, it rivals the 125-cc petrol scooters available in the Indian market. The 450S gives tough competition to the Ola S1 Air in the electric vehicle segment.

The Chief Business Officer at Ather Energy, Ravneet Singh, commented on the price reduction and stated that "Ather is embarking on an aggressive growth journey to tap into the growing demand for electric scooters. To meet this demand, we are adding about 100 retail touchpoints this quarter taking our total touchpoints to 350. Along with this, we have reintroduced our entry-level scooter - the 450S at a very compelling price point that appeals to a wider set of buyers. The Ather 450S at this new price makes for a strong value proposition, bringing the quality and assurance of Ather at a more accessible price point."

The Ather 450S electric scooter is powered by a 2.9 kWh lithium-ion battery set that provides up to 115 km of range in one charge. The scooter can accelerate from 0 to 40 kmph in just 3.9 seconds, and it has a top speed of 90 kmph.

The electric scooter also gets the option of the Pro Pack in place of the base variant. The Pro Pack trim comes with Ather Stack updates, Ather Connect, Ather battery protection, and Ride Assist. All these features can be unlocked for an extra amount of INR 10,000.
