Ather Energy has revealed the limited-edition 450X Series 1 EV scooter

In a big development, Ather Energy unveiled the 450X Series 1 limited edition today. The special edition model is based on the EV manufacturer's flagship model 450X. The Indian manufacturer had earlier unveiled the 450X scooter on January 28, 2020, and it got a good response from the Indian buyers. The 450X scooter pre-booking was opened before the official unveil with the Bangalore based start-up receiving thousands of orders. The response was overwhelming considering there was no disclosure by Ather on the price and specifications. The 450X Series 1 limited edition scooter will be made available only for the customers who pre-booked the 450X scooter

The limited-edition stands out due to the translucent panels in the rear. One can spot the distinct cast aluminium chassis under the seat, thanks to the panels. Ather becomes the first manufacturer to offer this option. The special-edition scooter comes in glossy black paint scheme with Dayglo red accents which are far different from the usual grey, white, mint green colour options seen in Aether 450X.  The translucent panels are made of polycarbonate instead of ABS thus making the scooter lighter without affecting the performance. The signature colours come on the 7-inch touchscreen dashboard with a special intro screen and the UI features subtle use of red colour.

The 450X Series 1 limited edition will be equipped with a 6 kW PMSM electric motor. The scooter is powered by 2.9 kWh lithium-ion battery, it delivers 8 bhp of maximum power and 26 Nm of peak torque. The manufacturer is also offering 4 riding modes- Eco, Ride, Sport, and Warp. As per Aether Energy, the scooter goes from 0 to 40 kmph in just 3.3 seconds making Ather Energy 450X one of the quickest 125cc scooters in the domestic market.

Deliveries of Series 1 will commence from November 2020 to the 11 cities- Bangalore, Chennai, Hyderabad, Kochi, Coimbatore, Kozhikode, Mumbai, Delhi NCR, Pune, Ahmedabad, Kozhikode, and Kolkata. The initial batches will come with glossy-black panels and will be upgraded to the translucent panels in May 2021.
