It recently took the wraps off the 2021 iteration of the Q2 SUV in Europe. Now the brand is all set to launch the Q2 in the Indian market. We can expect the bookings for this SUV to begin this month. Audi India has released a teaser video of the same on its official twitter handle. The SUV will be brought to India as a fully-built unit. Audi will be utilizing the Government’s provision that allows a total of 2500 cars to be imported in India and then sold here without the requirement of homologation. Audi Q2 will be positioned under the upcoming new-gen Q3.
Cosmetically, the Q2 SUV will get a sporty front fascia. It will feature a large single-frame grille flanked by wraparound LED headlamps along with LED DRL's. The grille now features a new polygon design. In addition, it will also get black cladding across the bumpers, running boards, and on wheel arches. This further gives the SUV a muscular look. It provides redesigned front air-intakes. The rear end will boast of square-shaped tail-lights and a revised bumper. The cabin of the Q2 SUV remains unchanged. The India-spec model will get a host of features. These will include a digital cockpit instrument cluster, a 12.3-inch touchscreen unit, an 8.3-inch multimedia infotainment system, dual-zone climate control, connected car tech, and a wide range of driver-assist systems. The SUV will also get Bang & Olufsen sound system as an option. The Euro-spec Audi Q2 gets a choice of different assist packages that include functions like adaptive cruise control, parking assist, and lane departure warning.
Under the bonnet, India-spec Audi Q2 will be powered by a 2.0-litre turbo petrol engine. This engine also powers the Tiguan Allspace. It generates 190 bhp power and 320 Nm torque. Furthermore, it is mated to a 7-speed S-Tronic dual-clutch transmission.
The Q2 SUV is likely to be offered in five new color schemes namely Apple Green, Manhattan Grey, Navarra Blue, Arrow Grey, and Turbo Blue. We can expect the SUV to be priced around Rs 30 lakhs (ex-showroom) in India.
