With the festive season around the corner, Audi India has introduced the new Q8 Celebration Edition at an introductory price of Rs 98.98 Lakhs (ex-showroom) in the country. This new special edition is the entry-level variant of the Audi Q8 series. In comparison to the standard Audi Q8, this Celebration Edition is Rs 34000 cheaper. The standard Audi Q8 is currently priced at Rs 1.33 Crores (ex-showroom) while the top-end Audi RS Q8 is retailed at Rs 2.07 Crores (ex-showroom). The company has already started accepting the bookings of the Audi Q8 Celebration Edition. Interested buyers can either visit the dealerships or directly book it online via the company's website. The deliveries are slated to begin soon. This new variant will rival the likes of BMW X6, Mercedes AMG GLE 4Matic Coupe, and Porsche Cayenne Coupe.
Cosmetically, the Audi Q8 Celebration gets HD matrix headlamps with dynamic lighting and 19-inch alloy wheels instead of 20-inch wheels. The cabin of the Celebration Edition is quite similar to the standard model. However, there are subtle changes in terms of features.
The new special edition gets a standard Audi sound system instead of the Bang & Olufsen audio unit. The operating buttons are finished in matte black instead of aluminum. Other feature highlights include the Audi phone box light wireless charging system, button-less multi-media interface navigation system with touch response, ambient lighting, Audi virtual cockpit, and panoramic sunroof among others. As for safety features, the model gets Audi pre-sense, eight airbags, and park assist as standard.
“Traditionally, the festive season has been a strong sales period for the auto industry and we are extremely happy to introduce an addition to the Q-family – the Audi Q8 Celebration. Since its very successful launch in January earlier this year, the Audi Q8 has received an overwhelming response and we are confident that with the Audi Q8 Celebration we will now be able to widen the appeal of this irresistible Q model," as commented by Balbir Singh Dhillon, Head of Audi India.
Under the bonnet, the new Audi Q8 celebration edition is powered by a 3.0-litre TFSI petrol engine that bells out 335 bhp power and 500 Nm torque. The engine is linked to an 8-speed Tiptronic automatic gearbox. Furthermore, the model comes equipped with the Quattro all-wheel drive system. It is also capable of accelerating from 0-100 kmph in 5.9 seconds. The Celebration Edition misses out on adaptive suspension. Instead, it gets standard suspension with damper control.
