The same engine powers the Porsche Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid.

The upcoming Audi RS Q8 could be powered by a 680hp, hybrid powertrain and it will go on sale next year. The car will most probably use the twin-turbocharged V8 petrol engine and electric motor that powers the Porsche Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid.

The engine makes 550bhp and 770Nm and the electric motor adds 136hp and 400Nm. Power is channelled via an eight-speed twin-clutch automatic transmission. The combined system output is 680hp and 850Nm and the electrified SUV will offer a wider range of driving characteristics, including a pure electric and a Sport mode.

When we see the final production car, the electrified super SUV will could make more power than the 650hp Lamborghini Urus and 550hp Porsche Cayenne Turbo, but bear in mind that hybrid versions of those cars will be launched and those could offer more power than the RS Q8.
