German car maker, Audi is currently working on a Q8 SUV. The Q8 will be based on the Q7 but become the company’s flagship SUV. The SUV was recently spotted testing in India.
The Q8 concept was showcased at the Detroit motor show back in January 2017. And German brand has been testing the upcoming SUV ever since, however; a test-mule of this vehicle has been spotted in India for the first time. Audi has brought test-cars of its upcoming models before, many just before their international launch. However, Audi has still not revealed a production-spec model and will only do so sometime next year.
The Audi Q8 will feature some of the concept’s exterior styling, which includes the coupe-like tapering roofline. The production-spec model also looks like it will get the large grille from the concept. Lighting up the road ahead will be Audi’s latest Matrix laser headlamps and the LED DRLs. The production-spec Q8 loses out its flush door handles for regular ones. The flagship SUV will get LED tail lamps and feature the exhaust-design from the concept.
At present, we aren’t sure what powertrain the Q8 will use. Rumours suggest that the Q8 could feature electric turbocharging powered by the SUV’s 48V electrical system which may also be introduced at a later date. The Audi Q8 will rival the upcoming Range Rover Coupe, Mercedes GLE coupe and the BMW X6.
The facelifted version of the Magnite is expected to be priced a bit higher than the current model.
