Bajaj Chetak EV is available in two trim options namely Urbane and Premium

Bajaj Auto has temporarily suspended the bookings for Chetak electric scooter in Bangalore and Pune after receiving an overwhelming response from the potential customers. Bajaj Chetak EV bookings re-opened at 09:00 AM on the auspicious day of Gudi Padwa, i.e. on April 13, 2021. The customers were given the facility of booking the electric scooter on a first come first serve basis. Though, the company has refrained from mentioning the exact number of bookings it registered for the Chetak but it is safe to assume that the number was quite high as the brand had to cease acceptance of bookings within 48 hours.

Bajaj said that it will review the supply chain process and then, accordingly announce the next round of booking opportunity. For those asking, Bajaj Chetak electric scooter is the only two-wheeler in its segment to come with a steel body and flush-fitted panels. Some of the best-in-class features include an IP67 water-resistant and a beltless Solid Gear Drive. Commenting on the customer response, Mr. Rakesh Sharma, Executive Director at Bajaj Auto Ltd., said, “We are absolutely delighted to see the fabulous response to the re-opening of bookings for the Chetak electric scooter in Pune and Bengaluru. Covid-led disruptions last year resulted in an unintended and long waiting period but despite that we have seen very few cancellations of bookings."

The scooter boasts of three riding modes including a reverse mode. The company has equipped it with LED headlamps with integrated horseshoe shaped DRLs and sequential LED blinkers. In addition, it features connected technology which comes handy during the event of unauthorized access or an accident as it sends notifications to the owners via a dedicated app. We thank our customers in Pune and Bengaluru for their patience and now this overwhelming response. We are conscious that customers would like to receive early deliveries of Chetak and start enjoying it as soon as possible, hence we have had to take the difficult decision of closing the bookings in view of continuing supply chain uncertainties,” added Sharma.
