Bajaj Chetak Electric Scooter Sales Expanded to 20 Cities

Bajaj Auto has expanded the sales of Chetak electric scooter to 12 more cities apart from the existing 8 cities in the country. The company has doubled the Chetak network in the first 6 weeks of 2022, adding New Delhi, Mumbai, and Goa to the list of locations where it is available. Bajaj Chetak electric scooter can now be booked in 20 cities with a waiting period of 4–8 weeks. The brand had previously opened online bookings at its official website for the Chetak at a token amount of Rs 2000 in 8 cities last year. It rivals Ather 450X, Ola S1 and TVS iQube in the Indian market.


Bajaj Chetak Electric bookings can now be made in cities like Coimbatore, Madurai, Kochi, Kozhikode, Hubli, Visakhapatnam, Nashik, Vasai, Surat, Delhi, Mumbai and Mapusa. The e-scooter is available in four colors namely Indigo Metallic, Velutto Rosso, Brooklyn Black and Hazelnut. Powered by a lithium-ion battery pack with IP67 water resistance rating, it has a service interval of 12,000 kilometers or one year. The battery can be fully charged in 5 hours via a wall mounted AC socket with a quick charge capability of 25 percent in 60 minutes. It delivers a range of 90 kilometres in Eco mode. Being the only high-speed electric two-wheeler made from steel with flush-fit panels, the Chetak electric scooter comes with a battery warranty of 3 years or 50,000 kilometers.

The scooter boasts of three riding modes including a reverse mode while integrated LED headlamps with signature ‘horseshoe’ DRLs and sequential LED blinkers come as standard. Bajaj has introduced myChetak App which sends notifications in case of unauthorized access or an accident to the owners of the scooter. The company recently announced an investment of Rs 300 Crores to ramp up its electric vehicle production capacity as well. Commenting on the occasion, Mr. Rakesh Sharma, Executive Director, Bajaj Auto said, “Chetak’s success has been built on the quality of a thoroughly tested, dependable product. An on-ground network of sales and service reduces the anxiety of a customer venturing into an unfamiliar category such as electric scooters. Our plan is to double Chetak's network in the coming few weeks to accommodate the high demand.”
