Bajaj Auto has instructed its motorcycle part suppliers to get ready to double production for the recently released Triumph series of motorcycles.

Following a stronger-than-expected reaction to the Speed 400 and Scrambler 400X models, Bajaj Auto has instructed its motorcycle part suppliers to get ready to double production for the recently released Triumph series of motorcycles.

Since the introduction of the newly launched triumph range , Bajaj Auto has accepted over 15,000 reservations, and counting. According to the ramp-up plans, the company intends to reach volumes of 40,000–45,000 units during the current fiscal year and 100,000–120,000 units during the following fiscal year. According to expert estimates, this could potentially increase its revenue in the current fiscal year by 800–900 crore. The domestically developed and manufactured middleweight Triumph models were unveiled by Bajaj Auto on July 5 in India.

There has been an excellent response to the announcement as over 15,000 consumers have already reserved one of the two bikes in only over a week, according to Rakesh Sharma, executive director at Bajaj Auto, who did not divulge production numbers.

Bajaj takes over Triumph as the famous British motorcycle manufacturer Triumph and the Pune-based motorcycle manufacturer Bajaj have made a global cooperation for the co-development, design, and sale of middleweight motorcycle models in India and other regions. Sharma stated that the business anticipates starting exports in October. According to the manufacturers listed above, Bajaj Auto requested greater production targets during a meeting with 150 suppliers last week.

They had previously stated a timeline for a staged rise in manufacturing that would bring it to 5,000 units by November or December. The updated estimate is now 10,000 units or more.

As motorcycle manufacturers observe significant value and volume growth in this category, which sold over 800,000 units in FY23, competition in the 250cc-plus bike market is escalating.

Analysts anticipate that the recently introduced models would increase Bajaj Auto's market share and sales in the 250cc category.
