Bajaj Pulsar NS200 and Bajaj Pulsar 150 with BS 6 compliant engines have gone on sale in the country.

Indian auto manufacturer Bajaj Auto has launched the Pulsar NS200 BS6 model. It’s priced around Rs 1.24 Lakhs (ex-showroom) and the deliveries of the motorcycle will start in the next couple of weeks. The latest features with the bike include a fuel-injection system and a revamped catalytic converter with new oxygen and temperature sensors.

The Bajaj Pulsar NS200 BS4 generates around 23.2bhp of power and 18.3Nm of torque from its air/oil-cooled carburetted 199cc single-cylinder engine. With the addition of an FI system, it might see an increase in the figures to 24.2bhp and 18.6Nm due to the fact that Columbian-spec NS200 features the same fuel-injection system with these power and torque figures. To adhere to stringent BS6 emission norms, the exhaust system of the upcoming Indian-spec NS200 range could be significantly restrictive. In other words, the engine could be a bit ‘choked’. BS6 Bajaj Pulsar NS 200 FI is priced from Rs 1.24 lakhs which is nearly Rs 11000 expensive than the BS4 model, which roughly starts at around Rs 1.13 lakh.

There won’t be any significant changes in the bike but we have to wait for the official information to come out. Right now, the BS4 Pulsar 150 range is powered by a 149.5cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine generating power of 14bhp at 8,000rpm and 13.4Nm of torque at 6,000rpm. The new BS 6 model is expected to be powered by the same engine but will employ a fuel-injection system in place of a carburettor. This will affect the bike’s peak output figures and performance in general. The 2020 BS VI Bajaj Pulsar 150 will be available in both single-disc and twin-disc variants with the latter getting even bigger front forks. In addition, the single-disc variant will be offered in both electric and kick start options, while the twin-disc variant won't have that option.
