Just like Jaguar’s Land Rover and Volkswagen’s Bentley, the British luxury automobile maker too will produce all-electric vehicles in coming times.

The luxury automaker Rolls-Royce is all set to become an all-electric brand. The brand will switch to manufacturing only electric cars by 2030. The Chairman of BMW, Mr. Oliver Zipse, recently interacted with a few members of the European press, and there he confirmed that, just like Jaguar’s Land Rover and Volkswagen’s Bentley, the British luxury automobile maker too will produce all-electric vehicles in coming times. He shared that luxury car buyers are preferring to opt for more battery-driven vehicles.

The testing of Rolls-Royce’s first-ever fully electric car, named Spectre, will begin soon, and it is slated to launch later this year. The all-electric Spectre offers the highest level of automotive luxury, and it boasts a driving range of 520 kilometers. The EV gives 577 hp and 900 Nm of peak torque, and in just 4.5 seconds, it can go from 0 to 100 kmph.

The CEO of Rolls-Royce, Mr. Torsten Muller-Otvos, stated that, “With this new product, we set out our credentials for the full electrification of our entire product portfolio by 2030. By then, Rolls-Royce will no longer be in the business of producing or selling any internal combustion engine commonly known as ICE products.”

China is the biggest electric vehicle market in the world, followed by the United States and other European countries. Various automotive brands are looking forward to expanding their product portfolio by entering the EV market. The BMW-owned Rolls-Royce too, is ready to become an electric-only brand.

Although demand for electric vehicles is currently reducing in various markets, Rolls-Royce is known for its luxury cars, and it competes in a high-level market. The experts suggest that entering the world of EVS might prove beneficial for the brand, as the timeline set by Rolls-Royce is a decade away and market trends tend to change every year.

During a recent conference call, Mr. Oliver Zipse confirmed that six Neue Klasse models will be unveiled in the next 24 months. The MINI Aceman was spotted testing many times last year, and it may debut in April 2024.
