Bentley claims the new Bentayga Speed is world's fastest SUV

Bentley has revealed a performance version of its luxury SUV and it’s called, the Bentayga Speed. The brand is all set to showcase the Bentayga Speed at the Geneva Motor Show for its official debut.

According to Bentley, the new Bentayga Speed is the world’s new fastest SUV. The luxury SUV can achieve a top speed of 305.7 km/hr, that’s about 0.8 km/hr faster than the previous record holder, the Lamborghini Urus which tops out at 304.9 km/hr. It is powered by an updated version of the twin-turbo 6.0-litre W12 engine. This setup offers 635 PS of peak power and 900 Nm of torque which is 26 PS more than the regular Bentayga. Moreover, the Bentayga Speed covers the 0-100 km/hr run in 3.9 seconds, down from 4.1 seconds.

Other revisions to justify the Speed badge include a recalibrated chassis, a Sport mode for better response from the W12 engine and the eight-speed automatic transmission, firmer suspension and an updated version of Bentley’s Dynamic Ride system. The exhaust has also been tuned to sound louder and sportier. Also, the optional ceramic brakes are the largest and most powerful ever fitted to a Bentley.

The new Bentayga Speed also gets unique design elements to distinguish itself from the regular Bentayga. It gets dark-tint headlights, radiator and bumper grilles, model-specific 22-inch alloy wheels, body-colored side skirts, a noticeable tailgate spoiler and discreet ‘Speed’ badging. On the inside, the SUV gets a unique color-split theme with Alcantara, leather and lots of diamond quilting. A metal ‘Speed’ badge is mounted on the passenger side fascia while illuminated ‘Speed’ treadplate is also found on the side sills.
