Bajoun Yep Plus is actually a five-door variant of the Yep which is sold in a three-door body style.

A Chinese automaker, Bajoun has finally unveiled its small EV SUV in the Chinese market. The model is supposedly based on the similar platform with MG Comet EV which is currently being traded in the Indian market. Bajoun Yep Plus is actually a five-door variant of the Yep which is sold in a three-door body style.

To decode the design, the model has a quirky look with a sturdy boxy design and small dimensions. Furthermore, the manufacturer is employing vibrant colors to make the variant pop under sunlight, making sure that Bajoun Yep Plus definitely catches peaks when run on the roads.

Bajoun exactly repeated a similar pursuit with Yep Plus what Maruti Suzuki did by extending the wheelbase of Jumny to inculcate the rear set of doors. Currently, the wheelbase of Yep Plus is at 2,560 mm which is around 450 mm longer. Whereas, the wheelbase is not the only variation that the car manufacturer has made. The overall length is now 600 mm longer than the standard model of Yep which is actually 3.4 metres. The height and width also have been pushed by 5mm and 75 mm to 1,726 mm and 1,760 mm respectively.

Till now, Bajoun hasn’t unveiled the specifications for its battery of the Yep Plus. Moreover, it is anticipated to be even bigger than the 28.1 kWh unit that is doing duty on the three-door Yep. The company claims that Yep Plus has a driving range of 401 km whereas Yep only gets a driving range of 303 km. The electric SUV is all powered up by an electric motor clipped on the rear axle which has the capability to churn out 100 bhp of output. The brand is also claiming that Yep Plus will also sprint at a peak speed of 100 kmph.

MG has already filed a trademark for the design for the Yep SUV in the country. So, there seems a probability of the brand welcoming this model in India in its future endeavors. Furthermore, as Yep is based on the similar platform with Comet EV, it is expected that these might not differ much in price terms.
