BMW India has launched the facelifted version of the 6 Series GT today at an introductory price of Rs 67.90 lakhs (ex-showroom). The price goes as high as Rs 77.90 lakhs (ex-showroom) for the range-topping 630d M Sport variant. Bookings for the same have been commenced at all BMW dealerships from today onwards. Interested buyers making an online booking before 30th April 2021 can avail of complimentary Original BMW Accessories and Lifestyle Collection products worth Rs 1.50 Lakhs on limited units. The luxury model will be locally produced at the BMW Group Plant Chennai. Furthermore, the updated 6 Series GT is offered in one petrol variant - 630i M Sport, and two diesel variants - 620d Luxury Line & 630d M Sport.
In terms of design, the
BMW 6 Series GT facelift gets a BMW kidney grille upfront. In addition, it gets new full-LED Adaptive headlights, new BMW laser light, re-profiled bumpers, and revised LED tail lamps. The trapezoidal exhaust tip comes as standard across all the variants.
Moving inside the cabin of the 6 Series GT facelift, it comes equipped with a plethora of segment-first features. The BMW 630i and BMW 620d boast of Natural Leather Dakota trim with fine wood trims while the BMW 630d comes with an exclusive ‘Nappa’ leather upholstery with diamond stitching. The 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system is compatible with BMW Live Cockpit Professional and BMW Virtual Assistance, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and OTR updates. Other feature highlights include a fully electric adjustable driver & co-passenger’s seats with memory function, ambient lighting, four-zone automatic climate control, wireless charging, and Harman Kardon Surround sound system. Talking about the safety features, the updated 6 Series GT gets 6 airbags, ABS with brake assist, attentiveness assistance, dynamic stability control, electric parking brake with auto hold, electronic vehicle immobilizer and crash sensors, side-impact protection, and ISOFIX child seat mounting.
Performance-wise, the 6 Series GT facelift with three engine options. The
BMW 630i is powered by a 2-litre 4-cylinder petrol engine that churns out 256 bhp power and 400 Nm peak torque. The BMW 620d gets a 2-litre 4-cylinder diesel engine that develops a maximum power of 188 bhp and a peak torque of 400 Nm. The BMW 630d, on the other hand, comes with a 3-litre 6-cylinder in-line diesel engine that generates 263 bhp power and 620 Nm torque. An 8-speed Steptronic sport automatic gearbox comes as standard.
