BS6 Harley Davidson Street 750 Features Discount of Rs 65,000

Harley Davidson plans to shut its manufacturing plant at Bawal, Haryana

Harley Davidson has recently slashed the price of Street 750 by Rs 65,000. The bike is now available at Rs 4.69 lakh (ex-showroom). Last year, the company had launched the Limited Edition Street 750 10th Anniversary at a special price of Rs 5.47 lakh (ex-showroom).

Due to the lockdown caused by the pandemic, the American motorcycle manufacturer has not been able to give a good performance. Because of low sales numbers, the company is planning to either exit or limit the focus on markets outside USA. Apart from this acoording to certain media reports, the Harley Davidson manufacturing facility located in Bawal, Haryana is also likely to be shut down. This will further lead to Harley Davidson Street 750 not being manufactured locally. Which also means that the most affordable bike Street 750 will now become pricier if it is imported to India. With the ongoing planning, the company has given a discount on the leftover stock of the Street 750 at its dealerships. 

Talking about Harley Davidson Street 750, then mechanically it is powered by a BS6 compliant 749cc, liquid-cooled, V-twin engine. The engine is linked to a 6-speed gearbox and churns out 68 bhp power with 64 Nm of peak torque. Suspension duties are taken care by telescopic forks up front and twin shock absorber towards the rear. As for the brakes, the bike gets discs at both ends along with dual-channel ABS. Further, the motorcycle is available in five color options namely Vivid Black, Performance Orange, Black Denim, Vivid Black Deluxe, and Barracuda Silver Deluxe. Apart from Vivid Black, all the other Street 750 shades cost Rs 12,000 more than the standard model.  

The Harley Davidson Street portfolio in the Indian market comprises of six products namely Street 750, Street Rod, Iron 883, Forty-Eight, Forty-Eight Special, and 1200 Custom. The Street 750 first debuted at the 2013 EICMA Show. It is currently manufactured at the company's Bawal plant in Haryana. For that matter the Harley Davidson Street 500 is also manufactured in this facility. However, it is not sold in the domestic market.
