The three prime players in the 150cc -160cc motorcycle segment include the names of TVS Apache RTR 160, the Suzuki Gixxer and Yamaha FZ V3.0. The TVS Apache RTR 160 4V certainly has the edge over the Gixxer and FZ. Each of them comes with BS6 compliant engines. The TVS Apache is not the most affordable motorcycle as it is priced between Rs 1,03,50 lakhs - Rs 1,06,250 lakhs (ex-showroom). In terms of affordability, Yamaha FZ V3.0 fairs well in this category as it is priced at Rs 99,200 (ex-showroom). The Suzuki Gixxer, on the other hand, will set you back by Rs 1.12 lakh (ex-showroom) which is quite a premium.
All three motorcycle get BS6 compliant fuel-injected engine. In terms of engine displacement, the TVS has the biggest motor compared to Suzuki and Yamaha. All engines are mated to a 5-speed manual transmission. The motor of all three motorcycles offers a crisper throttle response. The Apache's engine produces the most power. However, the difference in torque is not as wide as the power output.

In terms of dimensions, TVS Apache RTR 160 4V weighs more than Suzuki Gixxer and Yamaha FZ V3.0. The FZ's wheelbase is the shortest thus explaining it's flickability through traffic.
The TVS has a higher ground clearance of 180mm, suited enough to handle broken roads and tall speed breakers. While the Gixxer and FZ have run flat tyres.

In terms of features, there aren't many that can differentiate the Apache, Gixxer and FZ from each other.
All of them offer LED headlamps, ABS and digital instrument clusters. The FZ's instrument cluster is the tiniest of the lot and not the most informative either. All three motorcycles use a telescopic fork up front and a pre-load adjustable mono-shock towards the rear.
